Contact: (210) 277-0663
Hours: Tuesday-Thursday: 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM; Friday-Saturday: 11:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Pazzo Pastaria has the feel of a classic neighborhood Italian spot that focuses on simple, scratch-made comfort food rather than flashy presentation.
We really like the emphasis they put on thick, flavorful sauces. They coat the noodles well and make the meals feel hearty and satisfying.
We recently stopped by for a plate of traditional spaghetti during a busy lunch rush, and the portion size was generous for the price.
The restaurant also adjusts its menu flow throughout the day, offering lighter lunch portions before moving into a fuller dinner service later in the evening.
Their takeout packaging is also well handled, making it easy to enjoy the food at home while it’s still hot.
One thing to keep in mind is their Saturday schedule. They close for about an hour and a half in the afternoon between lunch and dinner service, so timing your visit helps avoid the downtime.
Delicious!
Had the food delivered so can’t make an opinion on the atmosphere. But when it got delivered, it was hot and very tasty! Got the eggplant parmesan, spaghetti with meatballs and a Philly cheesesteak, delicious! My first time having this restaurant, will definitely have to go in person next time.

All were delicious.
We really enjoyed our dining experience with Katie who enthusiastically took care of us. She explained our menu and the evening’s specials with great detail, and nothing disappointed. We tried the featured soup, the chicken Parmesan, spaghetti and meatballs, and the pasta rustica, and all were delicious. She is proud to serve what her kitchen had lovingly prepared for us and it really shows in her descriptions and service. I highly recommend checking them out, you won’t be disappointed with the fresh ingredients and homemade pastas.

2. Little Italy Restaurant & Pizzeria

Contact: (210) 349-2060
Hours: Monday-Thursday: 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM; Friday: 11:00 AM – 10:00 PM; Saturday: 11:30 AM – 10:00 PM
Little Italy Restaurant & Pizzeria is a family-run spot that leans heavily into old-school Italian recipes and classic New York-style traditions.
The kitchen is known for both its slow-cooked pasta dishes and hand-tossed pizzas, giving diners plenty of comfort-food options to choose from.
We especially love that their spaghetti dishes are customizable. They offer rich meat sauces packed with garlic and oregano.
They even offer complimentary garlic bread, which is perfect for soaking up any extra marinara left on the plate.
The restaurant also offers private dining rooms for larger family gatherings and events, along with a solid wine list comparable to popular local wine tastings
One thing to note is that the restaurant is completely closed on Sundays, so weekend pasta plans need a little extra timing.
The food was wonderful.
First time coming here. The waiter was fantastic. He spotted we were first timers right away. Talked us through all of there options of what they had. He actually talked to our 10yo which is a huge plus in my eyes. Place was clean and quiet. It was nice hearing the staff welcome regular customers by name. Food was amazing as well we had some calamari for appetizers, spaghetti, chicken and mushroom pasta with garlic sauce. Food was wonderful.

Highly recommended.
Excellent Italian restaurant, friendly talented wait staff red and white checked table cloths, and Sinatra and Deno on the air… I highly recommend; we had spaghetti with meatballs and it was wonderful, it was some of the best I’ve had to be honest. I bet everything else on the menu is just as good.

3. Capparelli’s On Main

Website: https://www.capparellisonmain.com/
Address: 2524 N Main Ave, San Antonio, TX 78212
Contact: (210) 735-5757
Hours: Tuesday-Thursday: 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM; Friday-Saturday: 11:00 AM – 10:00 PM; Sunday: 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Relying on recipes and a deep family history dating back over thirty years, Capparelli’s On Main stands out as a culturally significant dining destination.
Their focus on unpretentious Italian-American classics really stood out during our visit. Among their dishes, traditional spaghetti absolutely stole the show.
We stopped by for their highly affordable lunch specials last week, and the thick, long-simmered marinara perfectly coated every single strand of our pasta.
The interior features artwork contributed by faithful patrons, creating a wonderful community-driven dining aesthetic.
They also maintain an efficient curbside pickup program for those wanting a hot spaghetti dinner without the hassle of parking.
Because the kitchen relies heavily on these slow-cooked legacy recipes, it can be quite difficult for them to accommodate strict dietary restrictions like gluten-free pasta requests.
Still the best since the 90s!
Ordered spaghetti to go! WOW! We actually got a good portion of food. Paid some $44 for two orders of spaghetti with hearty meat sauce _ salad and bread included. We order from Volare on Mcullough and get the stingiest portion of pasta for the seafood pasta and children’s spaghetti. With a $15 extra for a salad paid some $75 and have to beg for extra bread. That’s what it is about – the pasta! Capparelliies still the best since to 90s!

I always enjoy coming here.
I had an amazing dinner here on Friday night with my Bestie. She had the salmon piccata, and I had the chicken piccata. For starters, the service was great. Then that salad, oh my gosh. The dressing is to die for. Then my meal, sauce was creamy and lemony and fresh and the chicken was cooked to perfection. The spaghetti and the sauce were amazing. I always enjoy coming here. It’s a wonderful family Italian restaurant. Kudos to Ms. Capparelli and her staff. !

Contact: (210) 732-8861 | [email protected]
Hours: Monday-Saturday: 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM
Main Street Pizza & Pasta is known for hearty baked pasta dishes and a fast, efficient service style that works especially well for busy lunch crowds.
Their baked spaghetti is a standout. It’s layered with sweet marinara, melted mozzarella, and finished in the oven until the top turns golden and bubbly.
Most entrees also come with a side salad and fresh focaccia bread, which adds a lot of value to the meal.
Located in Midtown, the restaurant is convenient for downtown workers and nearby shoppers looking for a quick but filling lunch. Their daily specials are also popular for offering generous portions at affordable prices.
One downside is their schedule. They’re closed on Sundays, so their signature baked pasta isn’t available for weekend visits.
You can’t get a better deal than that.
For only $8.99, I got a large portion of good spaghetti and meatsauce, a nice salad, and delicious bread. You can’t get a better deal than that. If you can, I’d like to know. The clerk was friendly and the place is cute and clean.

Will definitely add it to our faves list.
Great little place in the middle of San Antonio! SO and I were looking for some pre-marathon food but did not want to go to one of those $$$$ overrated places so after doing our usual Google search found this spot. It was perfect! Food was delicious (spaghetti marinara with shrimp, salad, garlic bread, and a drink), the ambiance was cozy and relaxed, and prices were perfect. Will definitely add it to our faves list. Thank you!!

5. Battalion

Contact: (210) 816-0088
Hours: Sunday, Tuesday-Thursday: 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM; Friday-Saturday: 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Battalion combines upscale Italian dining with one of the more unique restaurant settings in the city. It operates inside a beautifully restored historic fire station, complete with original fire poles and a stylish lounge atmosphere.
The kitchen, led by a well-known local culinary team, takes a refined approach to classic Italian dishes. When we visited, the pasta used in our spaghetti was cooked perfectly al dente, showing a clear focus on traditional technique and consistency.
Their craft cocktail menu is also thoughtfully designed to balance the richness of the food, especially the heavier tomato sauces and cheese-forward pasta dishes.
Unfortunately, they open exclusively for evening service, completely eliminating this gorgeous venue as an option for a midday spaghetti craving or a casual business lunch.
The spaghetti was tasty!
The grilled octopus is highly recommended!! I’ll be going back, just for that!!! The ravioli was delicious! Brussel sprouts were good, the spaghetti was tasty! The view is beautiful as well with their craft cocktail menu and wine list!

The food was delicious, the service was great.
Overall, it was a great experience. It was a suggestion from someone in our group, and I will say we were not prepared for the pricing on the menu or the serving sizes. Nothing against the restaurant itself, the food was delicious, the service was great, the setting was amazing (a little dark) but beautiful.
*Also, had our 6 year old and while there’s was no child menu, the waitress was so nice and offered a serving buttered noodles or spaghetti and meatballs for him.
