We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Fry Quality & Texture: We searched for potatoes that deliver a satisfying crunch on the outside while remaining wonderfully fluffy inside. We also evaluated how well they hold their texture during takeout transport.

Variety & Options: A great menu should offer classic salted versions alongside seasoned or loaded alternatives. We favored establishments providing diverse styles to suit different cravings.

Value & Experience: We compared the portion sizes against the menu prices to determine overall satisfaction. Finding generous baskets that justify their cost was a major priority during our selection process.

Reviews & Reputation: We analyzed recent local feedback to ensure consistent quality across multiple visits. High ratings for taste and crispiness played a significant role in our final ranking.

Craving something highly unique? Pumpers answers the call with their signature dessert fries that pair savory potatoes with a rich chocolate and olive oil drizzle.

It’s served heavily, topped with specialty variations loaded with proprietary spicy elements and a robust cheese sauce. The flavors are intensely satisfying, hitting a wonderful balance of salt and fat.

I recently grabbed a late-night basket here after visiting one of the local comedy clubs in San Antonio, and the late kitchen hours were a lifesaver.

However, you should note that families with minors are barred from entry during the late evening hours. Additionally, anyone needing a gluten-free bun for their burger will have to pay a premium upcharge.

This was great!!

The burgers are absolutely amazing!! I ordered the #2 and my boyfriend the “last exit to pumpers”, and let me just say they are definitely worth the price. We spent 37 dollars for two cokes, burgers, and an order of fries (which were enough for the two of us) and this was great!! The place is a bit small, but the atmosphere is fun and inviting. Will come again!

Everything was delicious, served hot and fast.

I tried the Culo Melt and Overloaded Fries this visit! Everything was delicious, served hot and fast. I really enjoy coming here and appreciate knowing that the owner truly cares about the place and his employees. Keep up the fantastic work, Chef Stefan and the team! (Oops, I got too excited and started eating before taking a picture, next time! 😎)

The fries were good and the burger was great

I went to Griffs because it was recommended to me. They have options to sit in or outside. We sat inside because it was too hot outside. We must’ve picked the perfect time to go because there wasn’t a line and the staff was plentiful. They were fast and we got our food hot and fresh. I ordered the double cheeseburger. I really appreciated the fact that everything tasted homemade. The fries were good and the burger was great as well. I’d love to come back to this place.

The fries were fresh & hot

I just found another hidden gem on the Southside!

From the two guys at the counter to the food being so delicious!! I seriously rank these burgers over whataburger. The fries were fresh & hot not soggy dripping with oil!!

Great burgers and fries place

Great burgers and fries place that also serves great fried catfish.  The food is made fresh and full of calories.  Definitely big back approved.  I will be going back soon.  The place needs more parking space.

The fries and the fish were crisp and perfectly seasoned

From the moment I arrived until I left, everything at Mark’s Outing was great. The fries and the fish were crisp and perfectly seasoned, the burger was juicy and flavorful, the service was friendly and fast, the quality of the ingredients stood out, and the ambiance was comfortable and inviting. I especially appreciated the clean interior and the upbeat music. This place truly offers some of the best burgers near me.

Perfectly seasoned and crispy

Great little spot.  We took our burgers to go, the 1604 and a bacon cheeseburger with some large fries to share.  The burgers were done perfectly.  The brioche is the way up go with the extras that come on the burger.  The bacon is thick and cooked to pure delicious delight.  We could not even finish the fries between the two but they were perfectly seasoned and crispy.

I seriously wanted to go into the kitchen and hug the cooks

I dont know where to start. First time coming here. Hands down, AMAZING! had the 1604 burger, fries, onion rings, chicken tenders, fried pickles, mozzarella sticks and Last Roni flat bread. The wife said get a little bit of everything, so I did. And tore this up… it’s so good, I seriously wanted to go into the kitchen and hug the cooks. Definitely will be back.
