1. Kinetico of San Antonio

Website: https://www.kineticosa.com/
Address: 15678 Tradesman Dr
Contact: (210) 656-7873
Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM – 9:00 PM
Kinetico of San Antonio brings a massive advantage to home water treatment solutions with over 50 years of operation since 1970.
Their primary installations utilize a highly efficient non-electric technology powered entirely by the kinetic energy of moving water. With this, there are no sudden spikes in your utility bill.
They even use a dual-tank design that guarantees you never run out of soft water during the regeneration cycle. You can also explore flexible rental options if you’re not ready for a permanent purchase.
I actually had one of their technicians come out for a complimentary water analysis, and the level of detail they provided about my specific mineral content was impressive.
Keep in mind that securing their advertised freebies, like the reverse osmosis system, strictly requires a qualifying purchase. Furthermore, scheduling a consultation or repair can be tricky for busy professionals since they don’t have weekend availability.
Customer Reviews
We are very pleased with the whole experience. Steve was knowledgeable and helpful. We compared the cost and quality of other products and finally came to a decision. We are happy with the product so far. The installer was pleasant and friendly. Both Steve and the young man who installed did an excellent job and we highly recommend Kinetiko.

We have had our Kinetico system for over 15 years. We’ve had very few problems or need for service and repairs. The system is very efficient and econimical in providing soft water. We had Anthony out to check the system and he was very skilled and thorough in his work. He explained what he was doing to diagnose the system, determine its condition, and then correct worn parts. His work was efficient and quick. His explanations were understandable and complete. He did a thorough water test and our system is now functioning properly. All in all, outstanding service. Great system.

2. Alamo Water Softeners

Address: 3823 Thousand Oaks Dr.

Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM | Saturday 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Founded by Allen Townsend, a former US Marine, Alamo Water Softeners has successfully completed over 11,000 installations across Central Texas over the last five years.
Instead of relying on generic units, Townsend collaborated with engineers to develop a proprietary product line built specifically for our harsh regional water.
Their CareSoft Elite RC model is particularly notable because it uses a split-tank design to combine softening media and activated carbon efficiently.
I love that if you already have a unit from another brand, their highly trained technicians can still troubleshoot and repair it.
The major downside is the steep initial investment, as whole-home systems typically start around $3,000. Additionally, you should expect to pay a standard diagnostic fee just to get an inspection and a repair estimate.

Alamo Water Softeners has always been helpful from the sales to the service. We’ve had a softener for 3 years now and have been extremely pleased. Our most recent service visit was with James and he was absolutely amazing! He explained everything very thoroughly with us as to what he was doing and how we could improve on maintaining our system, regardless if he’s done this before… no judgement whatsoever. If you’re looking for a water softener, I highly recommend Alamo!

Sergio with Alamo Water Softeners did an excellent job installing my water softener and Reverse Osmosis system! He arrived early, explained what he was going to do before starting and completed the installation with no mess and no leaks. He also took the time to explain how both systems work and how to care for them! I highly recommend Alamo Water Softeners!

3. Simple Water Softeners

Contact: (210) 960-2555 | [email protected]
Hours: Monday to Friday 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM | Saturday 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Finding a locally assembled system is a rarity, but Simple Water Softeners builds their conditioning units right here in town using top-tier components like Clack valves.
I also find it admirable that they operate on a commission-free model, skipping the traditional in-home sales pitch to pass those direct savings straight to the buyer.
On the downside, you’ll need to visit their physical showroom to see the models in action.
When I called them to ask about replacing an old unit at a rental property, I loved that they gave me a detailed, upfront price estimate right over the phone.
As for the technical side, it’s overseen by a co-founder who is a certified Class III water specialist, so you’re confident that the installation is handled with genuine expertise.
They even promise to match all manufacturer warranties for the entire lifespan of your equipment. Just note that their basic maintenance plan requires you to manually purchase and add the salt yourself.

Lisa truly went above and beyond, even during the freeze! She was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind. From start to finish, we felt less like customers and more like family (the kind that actually gets along 😄). If you’re looking for reliable water softener installation, maintenance, or water softener parts, I can’t recommend Simple Water Softeners enough. Outstanding service and people you can trust!

Got a filter and softener installed. There were delays due to weather and illness of staff. The office handled it well, keeping on top of things and keeping me informed of developments. Their price was one of the most reasonable around. The person who made a followup visit to check the installation did a good job explaining how the unit worked and tested our water to make sure everything is working correctly. Very happy and highly recommend.

Hours: Monday to Thursday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | Friday 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Navigating appliance repairs can be stressful, which makes The Water Man’s strict policy against pushing unnecessary system upgrades incredibly refreshing.
With over 35 years of collective expertise, their team focuses on servicing and maintaining your existing setup rather than constantly selling you a new one.
They also partner with MC1 Plumbing to handle comprehensive pipe issues, and their technicians are fully cross-trained to maintain older third-party setups.
One of the co-founders is deeply committed to educating residents and realtors. I noticed that every consultation turns into a valuable learning opportunity.
For quick questions, however, their staff can be reached via a dedicated SMS line.
Keep in mind that their financing options are subject to credit approval, and missing the promotional window could result in high interest rates. They are also closed on Saturdays and Sundays.

Had such a great experience with this company. Was recommended by several friends and I’m glad I trusted them. Two other competing companies were unable to create an installation plan for my 1960s house but they created a reasonable affordable solution. The presentation explains everything I needed to know. Installation went smoothly and I’m so happy with my choice! Highly recommend!

Sofia did an excellent job during our first appointment, thoroughly explaining how the water softener system works and giving us a clear overview of the company. She was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and educational throughout the process. On the day of installation, she came with the technicians, who were professional, efficient, and quick. The entire experience exceeded my expectations, and I was highly impressed from start to finish. I highly recommend The Water Man to anyone considering a water softener system.

5. Little Profit Water Softeners

Address: 12022 Las Vegas St.
Contact: 210-459-4123
Hours: Monday to Saturday 7:00AM–7:00PM | Sunday (by appointment)
Working with a family-owned operation often guarantees a more personalized touch, and Little Profit Water Softeners delivers exactly that! They bring over a decade of large-scale commercial experience to the table.
It’s also notable that they hold official Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Water Treatment Specialist licenses.
Their approach centers around thoroughly educating clients on your specific water quality before ever asking for a commitment.
They’re also highly versatile, openly servicing major third-party brands like Fleck alongside their own high-quality installations.
I especially appreciate their specialized homeowner orientations, which teach clients exactly how to test and run the new equipment.
Because they’re a small company, prepare for a bit of a wait during their busiest seasons. Additionally, securing a weekend appointment requires more detailed planning, as they don’t maintain standard operating hours on Sundays.
Customer Reviews
Jason, my water softener technician, was great! He was very informative about the process that he had to take and what I would need to do in order to keep it running, properly. The price of the water softener issue was reasonable, as well. He took his time to explain things and he was very helpful and polite. I would recommend him. “Thank you” Jason for your services.
- Tanika Nelson | Google Reviews
Jason was excellent and the only person to give you a quote over the phone. No need to have someone come out for a quote. I highly recommend also going with a catalytic carbon pre-filter along with a softener. We can tell the difference between the pre-filter and softener. Jason is extremely knowledgeable and does a super clean install! Nobody beats his prices or service in San Antonio.
