Top 5 San Antonio Designers That Will Make Neighbors Jealous

We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.
  • Service Diversity: We looked for firms that go beyond simple decorating to offer full procurement, installation, and even architectural support.
  • Portfolio Quality: We examined their past work to ensure they can handle various styles, from modern luxury to classic traditional.
  • Transparency: We valued companies that are open about their pricing structures and team members, rather than hiding behind vague estimates.
  • Local Logistics: We prioritized businesses with their own warehouses or logistics teams, which drastically cuts down on delays and damages.
  • Client Satisfaction: We dug deep into reviews to see how they handle pressure, specifically looking for comments on communication and "after-sale" support.

Interior design in San Antonio is having a major moment. The scene has evolved past simple “rustic chic” and cowhide rugs (though, let’s be honest, a little leather never hurt anyone).

New condo owners at The Pearl and renovators of Hill Country estates both face the same challenge of finding a partner to turn a Pinterest board into a true home.

I’ve spent weeks digging into the local design scene to find teams delivering “turnkey” luxury without pretension.

These pros handle every detail. They manage the process, starting with initial sketches and ending with the placement of the final throw pillow, requiring zero effort from you.

How much does Interior Design cost in San Antonio?

Understanding the costs upfront can save you a lot of awkward conversations later. In San Antonio, you’re generally looking at an hourly rate between $50 and $500 depending on the designer’s fame and experience.

For a more “hands-off” luxury service, many firms charge a percentage of the total project cost, usually between 10% and 30%. To put that in perspective, if you are redoing a living room and dining area with high-end furniture and custom finishes, you might spend anywhere from a few thousand dollars for a simple refresh to over $150,000 for a complete, white-glove transformation.

Most designers will also charge an initial consultation fee, typically around $100 to $225, just to walk through your space and give you their initial thoughts.

1. The Staging Company

Hours: Mon – Sat: 8 AM – 7 PM

The Staging Company dominates the local market for getting a home market-ready quickly. Their established industry presence and sheer operational scale define them.

Operating across both Texas and Florida, they offer an “Instant Staging Quote” system that is genuinely impressive.

I actually tried out their online quote tool just to see if it lived up to the hype, and I had a ballpark figure in under two minutes without having to talk to a salesperson.

But what really sets them apart is their speed. They have a reputation for helping homes sell in days, not months, which is critical if you’re sitting on a high-value property.

However, their service area is strictly defined. If you are located outside their specific major metro zones, you might be out of luck, which is a bummer for those in more rural outskirts.

Pros

  • Huge inventory for diverse styles
  • Instant, tech-driven online quotes
  • 100% free, no-pressure inquiries
  • Accessible team

Cons

  • Strictly limited geographic service area

Customer Reviews

They are professional and went extra miles

The Staging Company put together a beautiful presentation of my house that immoderately got 3 showings in 3 days after it when alive on MLS. They are professional and went extra miles to accommodate changes that were not on the original scope of work so we can achieve the best results. Their price is competitive and always available when I have questions. I highly recommend The Staging Company!

They made the home really stand out!

The staging company is wonderful! I had a listing that had been on the market for months before using them. Put it fresh on the market with their beautiful staging & photos and had A LOT of traffic and went under contract in less than 2 weeks. They made the home really stand out! I know if we did not stage, we would still be on the market. It was so easy to pay, as well. The payment came out of the closing costs at closing. They were professional & made it all easy. Will definitely be using them again. Thank you!

2. BY Design Home Staging Company of San Antonio & Austin

Address: 8218 Fredericksburg Rd
Contact: +1 210-722-1633
Hours: Mon – Fri: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM

BY Design operates as a logistics powerhouse with impeccable taste. Their standout feature is their massive infrastructure, where they own a 20,000-square-foot warehouse and their own fleet of trucks.

This means they aren’t at the mercy of third-party rental companies, which is a game-changer for reliability.

They also offer a unique “Pay-at-Close” program, ideal for those selling their property. This allows them to defer the cost of staging until the home sells, which eases the upfront cash flow burden significantly.

They are also huge on education, having founded the “Staging Studio” to train others globally. This authority really shows in their work, and everything feels intentional and data-backed to sell homes faster.

The only downside I found is that, unlike some competitors who offer free consultations for everything, their in-home consultation for occupied homes comes with a fee starting at $299.

It’s an investment, but given their stats on selling homes 28 days faster than average, it seems justified.

Pros

  • Owns massive inventory and warehouse
  • “Pay-at-Close” financing available
  • Educational authority in the industry
  • Comprehensive service menu

Cons

  • Occupied home consultations come with a fee

By Design Staging Co. was absolutely exceptional

By Design Staging Co. was absolutely exceptional and worth every penny. The quality of their decor is truly above the rest, and their inventory selection is unmatched. Their goal aligns perfectly with mine as a Realtor- to get the home sold. Their attention to detail and understanding of what today’s buyers respond to make a noticeable impact on my listings. They operate as a true partner, not just a vendor, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to any seller who wants real results.

Very professional and completed the staging of our home on time.

3. NR Interiors

Address: 23119 W I-10 BLDG #2
Contact: +1 210-499-0008
Hours: Mon – Fri: 9 AM – 5 PM

For major renovations, NR Interiors is the firm to beat. Their comprehensive service mix puts interior design, architecture, and construction management under one roof.

I recently stopped by their showroom at Dominion Place, and having an in-house materials library where you can touch the tiles and countertops right next to the fabric samples makes the whole process so much less abstract.

They also operate on a flat-rate design model, which is refreshing if you are tired of watching hourly fees tick up like a taxi meter.

On top of that, their team includes procurement specialists and architectural designers, ensuring your project has technical precision behind the pretty aesthetics.

However, their high-end focus does come with geographic boundaries. They primarily serve exclusive communities like The Dominion and Cordillera Ranch, so if you’re outside these luxury pockets, they might not be the right fit for you.

Pros

  • In-house architecture and construction team
  • Flat rate pricing model
  • Advanced 3D rendering capabilities
  • Detailed construction documentation

Cons

  • Services focused on specific luxury areas

4. Texas Red Interiors

texas-red-interiors

Website: https://texasredinteriors.com/
Address: 102 E Rhapsody Dr Suite 101
Contact: +1 210-854-7332
Hours: Mon – Fri: 9 AM – 5PM

Texas Red Interiors brings a very human element to the design process with their wellness-centric philosophy.

They believe your environment directly impacts your mental well-being, which sounds like marketing fluff until you see how they actually lay out a room to maximize flow and light.

They are also one of the few firms I’ve seen that explicitly specializes in short-term rental design, making them a goldmine for Airbnb owners who need a durable but “Instagrammable” look.

Notably, the leadership team has over 45 years of combined experience. This longevity also translates to the quality of service they provide, being around the industry despite changing trends.

Plus, they frame their services as “Design to Completion,” handling all the shopping and ordering for you. This includes handling technical requirements like computer-aided design (CAD) drawings just as well as furniture selection.

A slight drawback is that their hands-on services are geographically anchored to their physical San Antonio location. This means they likely can’t support projects that require on-site management if you are too far out from the city center.

Pros

  • Specialized Short-Term Rental design
  • Wellness-focused design philosophy
  • Technical CAD and 3D modeling skills
  • Holistic Commercial Design

Cons

  • Physically anchored to San Antonio area

Customer Reviews

Texas Red Interiors are absolutely fabulous.

Texas Red Interiors are absolutely fabulous. They helped me to design and oversee a complete remodel of my master bathroom and it is stunning! Elizabeth was Amazing. She seamlessly came up with a design plan that was everything I wanted. Francisco was the contractor and he personally oversaw all of the work. He was professional, skilled, and always available. Most importantly, he got the work done quickly so that we were displaced for a minimum amount of time. I highly recommend this company without any reservation.

Texas Red Interiors did an amazing job

Texas Red Interiors did an amazing job on staging our parent’s home for resale. We had remodeled the 3,000sf home and it was completely empty. Texas Red was recommended by our realtor, and they convinced us to stage the entire house and back patio. And are we glad they did! The furniture was wonderfully stylish, and the design ideas throughout produced an inviting home atmosphere that brought us a contract in 5 days of listing! Thank you Texas Red! Highly recommend!!

5. Megan Hauze Interiors

megan-hauze-interiors

Website: https://www.meganhauzeinteriors.com/
Address: 27922 George O’Brien
Contact: +1 801-706-9583
Hours: Mon – Fri: 9 AM – 5 PM

Megan Hauze Interiors targets the “everyday woman” rather than the ultra-wealthy. Her unique value lies in her specific expertise as a custom paint color expert, which is a rare niche.

If you have ever stared at twenty shades of white paint and felt like crying, you know exactly how valuable that skill is. She focuses on creating timeless, classic interiors rather than chasing fleeting trends that will look dated in two years.

She also offers a “Design Your Space – Virtual” option, which provides flexibility. I love that she prioritizes comfort as much as aesthetics.

She understands that a home is for living in, not only for display.

The main limitation here is her scope as a primarily local decorator. Since she identifies as a San Antonio Interior Decorator, her ability to do full-scale, hands-on staging or project management is likely restricted to the immediate local area.

Pros

  • Expert in custom paint color selection
  • Budget-agnostic and approachable
  • Virtual design options available
  • Comprehensive service list

Cons

  • In-person services limited to San Antonio

Customer Reviews

We absolutely LOVED working with Megan!

We absolutely LOVED working with Megan! She made our house feel so warm, inviting and helped give it a “finished” feeling! She was a great communicator and responded promptly. She did a great job of giving us high end and affordable options and mixed and matched those options flawlessly, so that everything looks highend. We loved all that she did in our dining room, entry and living room that we asked her to come back and stage our home office shelves. Would highly recommend!

Book with Megan…..you won’t be disappointed!

Megan helped me furnish a new home for me and my 2 children and it came out PERFECT. It looks absolutely beautiful, but it’s the FEEL of the home now that’s priceless. Book with Megan…..you won’t be disappointed!
