Bringing genuine Louisiana-style hospitality to the heart of Texas is what sets Mr. Crabby’s Cajun Seafood & Bar apart. You get bold and festive Cajun-inspired flavors right at your table.
They use high-quality ingredients with authentic Creole spices, making every bite enjoyable. The portions are generous too, and perfect for sharing with groups and families.
Our team visited last month, and we barely finished our massive shared platter.
Even better, their vibrant seafood boils are also fully customizable and pair well with a classic po’ boy.
The dining room, though, gets quite loud during weekend evenings. The live music is fun, but makes quiet conversation difficult.
Best Server
I’ve been waiting for this place to open to have a good seafood boil without having to go to the other side of town everything was 10/10 and we had the best server Amaris she was the best hands down!

Taking control of your meal is easy at Hook & Reel Cajun Seafood & Bar with their highly customizable combo boils.
You can create combinations like “The Perfect Storm” by choosing your own proteins and spice levels. This makes it easy for everyone at the table to get something they enjoy without compromise.
We especially loved their Cajun and lemon pepper sauces. They have this rich, bold flavor, and they tie the whole boil together nicely.
Beyond the seafood boils, the menu also includes fried baskets and large combo deals that work well for groups looking to share a casual, hearty meal.
One thing to keep in mind is that consistency can dip during peak hours, when items like shrimp may occasionally be slightly overcooked. Visiting during a quieter lunch period usually results in a more reliable experience.
Very Attentive
It was our first time trying this place out today, we came in and were sat down immediately. Drinks and food came out quickly, everything was hot and fresh, extremely flavorful seafood boils!! Victoria is amazing, very attentive. She made sure all our needs were met. Will be returning!

Crawfish was Perfect
09MAR24: Stopped by for an early dinner on the way home after visiting the zoo with the kiddo. The raw and steamed oysters were delicious. Got the Cajun Fire for the steamed. I didn’t think it was really spicy. The hot sauce for the raw was spicier; but still tasty. Tried the H&R Special Sauce for the boil. I prefer the Cajun; but it was still good. The crawfish was perfect – the meat came right out. The snow crab wasn’t as perfect.
Overall, great visit. Great waitstaff. Thank you.
Note: the oysters were still attached to the shell.

Serving up massive, value-packed signature combos, Surfing Crab is all about a hands-on dining experience built around high-quality seafood and a bit of messy fun.
We love that we were given bibs and gloves when we dined here. It made it easy to dig in without holding back, setting the tone for a relaxed, playful meal.
The atmosphere works especially well for casual group dining. It’s loud, social, and meant for sharing food rather than quiet conversation. It feels like a complete contrast to the calm, refined pacing you might find at Japanese restaurants in San Antonio.
Here, the experience is more about laughter, cracked shells, and enjoying the chaos with friends.
That said, the service can slow down noticeably during busy dinner rushes. Once, we experienced longer waits for drinks and checkouts.
A bit of patience goes a long way when the dining room is full.
Totally Worth It
Just tried the Trio Special at Surfing Crab in San Antonio, and wow it was darn delicious! 🦀🦐🌽 This plate is a feast fit for four loaded with flavor, spice, and pure seafood goodness. Be ready to get your hands dirty, but trust me, it’s totally worth it for the satisfaction of digging in and leaving completely full. Great vibes, bold flavors, and a seafood boil that hits all the right notes. I’ll definitely be back! 🧄🔥🍽️

SA Seafood delivers a consistently flavorful experience centered on crab legs, crawfish, and other seafood staples. It has a cozy, neighborhood-style vibe that works well for both casual family dinners and relaxed weekday lunches.
We spoke with a coworker who orders their fried seafood baskets weekly, and she swears by their seasoning blends.
It’s also convenient for late diners, since the kitchen stays open until about 15 minutes before closing, making it easy to grab a spicy meal even later in the evening.
Just note that phone orders are occasionally restricted or completely disallowed when volume gets too high. You will likely have to order in-person or use their online system instead.
Great Experience
I had such a great experience at this seafood boil spot! Everything was so fresh and full of flavor. The seasoning was absolutely perfect not too salty, not too spicy, just the right balance. The seafood was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing.
The portions were generous, and you definitely get your money’s worth. The atmosphere was fun and welcoming, and the staff was friendly and attentive. I’ll definitely be coming back again. If you’re craving a good seafood boil, this place is a must-try!

Worth The Wait
Very delicious! Pleasant customer service. The wait time was a bit long, however getting fresh and hot food that’s delicious is always worth the wait. The po boys were excellent and the wings were flavorful. I will definitely try the seafood boil options next visit. Highly recommend!

5. SAT Asian Seafood Restaurant & Bar Main Store

Address: 6000 I-35, San Antonio, TX 78218
Contact: (210) 465-7299
Hours: Monday – Thursday 11:30 AM – 10 PM, Friday 11:30 AM – 11 PM, Saturday 12 PM – 11 PM, Sunday 12 PM – 10 PM
Merging the interactive fun of a classic seafood boil with Asian-inspired flavors, SAT Asian Seafood Restaurant & Bar Main Store creates a memorable dining experience that feels both familiar and different.
You still get the buttery, hands-on boil experience, but with standout additions like crawfish fried rice that bring an unexpected twist to the table.
The build-your-own King Crab platters are the highlight for our team. They’re generous enough to comfortably feed two hungry diners, which makes them a good option for sharing.
The bar area adds another layer to the experience, with skilled bartenders mixing local-style cocktails that pair well with the food.
The spice level, though, is quite disappointing. Even the top-tier level is a bit mild compared to traditional Louisiana boils, so extra hot sauce is often needed to kick things up.
Fairly Priced
The seafood boil here is fairly priced and solid. Their sauce is tasty, but the hot is not very hot at all. It definitely could have been a lot spicier! I got a pound of shrimp, a pound of crawfish, and a draft Modelo for $40. The beer was cold and refreshing. The shrimp was a bit overcooked and some were too mushy to eat. The crawfish was delicious and large.
The service was friendly. I would come back here again and give the shrimp another shot.

How Flavorful
First time here and I was shocked on how flavorful the food was. My wife decided to try the seafood boil and she was super excited to try it for the fish time. She absolutely loved the meal. We will be returning back soon.
