Living in San Antonio means dealing with scorching summers where a pool acts as a survival tool rather than a luxury. However, keeping that water crystal clear in the midst of our hard water and heavy pollen seasons is a massive chore.
Airbnb hosts in Alamo Heights need consistent cleaning for guests, while families in Stone Oak simply want to enjoy their homes without the hassle. In both cases, reliable help is essential.
We’ve scouted the city to find the most reliable, thorough, and professional pool services available.
How much does Pool Cleaning cost in San Antonio?
Understanding the price of pool care in San Antonio helps you budget for that perfect backyard oasis without any nasty surprises. For a standard weekly service that includes skimming and chemical balancing, most homeowners spend between $120 and $180 per month.
If you are handy and just need someone to handle the tricky chemistry, basic balancing services can be found for as low as $50 to $80 monthly. However, if you need a comprehensive “hands-off” experience that includes vacuuming and brushing, or if you have a salt system, costs can climb up to $210.
Remember that specialized treatments, like filter cleanings or storm cleanup, often come with an extra price tag on top of your monthly fee.
1. Poolie – San Antonio

Address: 600 Sandau Rd #900
Contact: +1 210-405-5990
Hours: Mon – Fri: 8 AM – 5 PM
Poolie, formerly known as Fiesta, markets itself as the fastest-growing pool service in Texas, and its modern approach supports that claim. Their “Four-Step Pool Care Blueprint” streamlines everything from booking to the final report.
I actually received one of their digital service reports after a cleaning, and seeing the photo confirmation along with exact chemical levels gave me total peace of mind that the job was done right.
Airbnb hosts, who often cannot verify work on-site, rely on this transparency for peace of mind.
They also provide all necessary chemicals and equipment, so you don’t have to store dangerous supplies in your garage.
While their tech-forward service is convenient, their schedule is a bit rigid. They are closed on weekends, which might be inconvenient if you have a pool emergency on a Saturday morning.

AMAZING!!!! Crystal Clear!
Our pool was looking like a swamp, usual pool guy (weekly service) had countless excuses as to why the pool was cloudy and green. Yesterday Scott with Poolie came out spent an hour assessing the issues and within 2 hours our pool looked AMAZING!!!! Crystal Clear! AND they scheduled a follow up visit for today to make certain all fixed. Thank you Scott and Poolie

He is very knowledgeable and keeps us informed.
I would like to give a shout out to Poolie and especially Ray, the Technician that services our pool. This time a year creates a real mess for us. Our pool is under several Live Oak trees. In the summer its great because it keeps our pool very cool and comfortable. Now we deal with falling leaves, rain, and new sprouts. Ray does a GREAT job staying on top of this. He is very knowledgeable and keeps us informed. I would highly recommend Ray and his team for any pool needs you might have.

2. Blue Science

Website: https://www.bluescience.com/swimming-pool-service/san-antonio-tx/
Address: 700 North Saint Marys St
Contact: +1 210-361-5006
Hours:
- Mon – Fri: 8 AM – 7 PM
- Sat: 9 AM – 2 PM
Blue Science is a family-owned operation that brings two generations of experience to your backyard, focusing heavily on water quality guarantees.
Their standout offering is the “Algae Free Guarantee,” which promises to treat any blooms at no extra cost if you are on their service plan. Families who dread waking up to a green pool before a weekend party find relief in this policy.
They also include a 23-point maintenance plan for full-service customers, ensuring every inch of the equipment is checked.
Their technicians leave a physical maintenance report every time, which helps you keep track of the service history.
However, you should be aware of their pricing structure regarding filters.
Filter cleanings are mandatory every few months, and they’re charged as a separate fee rather than being bundled into the monthly cost, which can catch some budget-conscious homeowners off guard.

Very professional
First of all I would like to be very clear the only reason I am with blue science is because of the service I get from Adrian Rebollar. I have had multiple people come out but Adrian by far is a cut above and takes his time addressing my concerns and is very professional.

The team did a fantastic job with everything!
We had our pool in San Antonio replastered and got new tiles and pool lights installed. The team did a fantastic job with everything, and the work was done quickly at a fair price. Howard was very responsive to all my questions and made sure the pool area was clean every day. The pool looks amazing now, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. I highly recommend them to anyone needing pool cleaning or pool maintenance work—you won’t be disappointed!

3. Gary Pools

Website: https://www.garypools.com/
Address: 6865 Camp Bullis Rd
Contact: +1 210-791-7577
Hours:
- Mon – Fri: 8:30 AM – 5 PM
- Sat: 10 AM – 2 PM
As South Texas’ original pool builder, Gary Pools has been a staple in the region since 1954, bringing unparalleled structural expertise to the table.
Their distinct advantage lies in their proprietary construction materials, like the “Gary Vanaloy™ Steel” and safety drains designed by the founder himself.
This engineering background makes them an excellent choice if your pool needs serious repairs or renovations alongside regular maintenance.
They also utilize ozone sanitation systems, which can reduce chlorine usage by up to 65%. Seniors and families with sensitive skin often prefer this system to avoid harsh chemical baths.
On top of that, they manage the full lifecycle of a pool, diagnosing leaks one day and executing full remodels the next.
A downside to consider is their accessibility for in-person visits. While the San Antonio spot is open, their other location is by appointment only, which might feel restrictive if you prefer dropping by to discuss projects.

Orrin, Miles, Nathaniel and Josh really took care of us.
Y’all I have been battling algae in this pool for a little while and had Gary’s as my regular service. My pool is tough to see imperfections it has a grey color surface. After the perfect storm of rainy days, a pump fuse that blew and heavy summer customer traffic, they came out and in a matter of 48 hours got me back to a 10 again. I’ll admit I got pretty impatient and wanted to find another pool company, but Orrin, Miles, Nathaniel and Josh really took care of us. I hope we can keep these crystal waters for a very long time.

All in all, very satisfied with the project.
Had the pool remodeled with some maintenance issues. There was a leak which was found by Manuel and fixed, pretty painless. The tile person Carlos, can’t say enough about him, took his time and did a great job. Burt fixed the other maintenance issues with staples around the cracks, that was also painless. All in all, very satisfied with the project, my wife couldn’t be happier with it.

4. Keith Zars Pools San Antonio

Address: 17427 San Pedro Ave
Contact: +1 210-494-0800
Hours:
- Mon – Fri: 8 AM – 5:30 PM
- Sat: 10 AM – 4 PM
Keith Zars Pools anchors its service offering in their comprehensive “Lifestyle Protection Plan” (LSPP).
This warranty program is unique because it includes proactive inspections three times a year to check pumps and chemistry, preventing issues before they start.
I spoke with a neighbor in Shavano Park who has used them for years, and they swore that the preventive checks saved them thousands on equipment repairs.
Their cantilever construction method is another major benefit, designed specifically to keep the pool shell connected to the deck despite shifting soil.
They are also the only certified PebbleTec installer in South Texas, giving them exclusive finish options you can’t get elsewhere.
However, their services are geographically limited. If you live on the far outskirts of the South Central Texas area, you might fall outside their service range, limiting access to their specialized teams.

Incredibly professional, dependable, and meticulous with his work.
We cannot praise HECTOR with Keith Zars enough! From day one, he has been incredibly professional, dependable, and meticulous with his work. The pool is always crystal clear and perfectly balanced, Hector takes the time to check the filter, equipment, and water levels every visit. He even points out small issues before they become big problems. It’s rare to find someone who takes this much pride in their work, but he truly does. If you want someone who treats your pool like their own, he’s the one!!

5. South Texas Pool Tile Cleaning

Website: https://www.southtexaspooltilecleaning.com/
Address: 3623 E Evans Rd
Contact: +1 210-343-1207
Hours: Mon – Sat: 8 AM – 8 PM
If your pool has developed that stubborn white calcium ring that regular brushing just won’t touch, South Texas Pool Tile Cleaning is the specialist you need.
They distinguish themselves with an eco-friendly glass bead blasting system that removes buildup at low pressure (40 PSI) without damaging your tiles. This offers a significant upgrade over harsh chemical acids that can upset your water balance.
While they specialize in tile restoration, they also offer a comprehensive service menu that includes general maintenance and leak detection. Homeowners often turn to them for rescue jobs on pools that other companies have given up on.
Their extended hours until 8 PM are also a huge plus for working families who need evening appointments.
One potential downside is that their services are focused on the South Texas area, which may limit availability for pool owners outside their core service region.
