When it comes to karaoke, some people want a packed bar and a lively stage, while others would rather book a private room with friends.

1. Zombies Bar

Website: https://drinkingwithzombies.com/
Address: 4202 Thousand Oaks Dr
Contact: (210) 281-8306
Hours: Wednesday-Sunday, 8:00 PM – 2:00 AM
Zombies Bar is the kind of place you pick when you want karaoke to feel like an event instead of background entertainment.
They fully commit to the horror theme here, from the zombie decor to the rock-heavy atmosphere, and even the “medical-grade” cocktails served in blood bags help sell the experience.
I stopped by to see the setup for myself, and it felt loud, weird, and fun in the best way. The crowd’s energy also makes it easier to get up and perform.
Another thing I appreciate is the consistency. They run karaoke every night they’re open, with the main stage kicking off at 9:30 PM, so you don’t have to guess whether singing will actually be happening.
The biggest drawback is that it is strictly 21 and older, and they’re closed at the start of the week, so this won’t work for every group or every schedule.

Fun crowd that supported each other
Dropped in for karaoke on a Saturday night and it was so fun! Kind bartenders and KJ host. Fun crowd that supported each other when others sang. As I have recently quit drinking after many years, they have a full non alcoholic menu to choose from. Smoke shop right next door and have the top brands at competitive pricing. I’ll be back again to enjoy myself soon! 🎤

The atmosphere was so cool
First time here and I was celebrating my 24th birthday! The atmosphere was so cool and I really loved the decor. The staff were really friendly and attentive. The live karaoke was a lot of fun. Drinks were great and great prices! They also have an amazing selection, even for non-alcoholic. We definitely plan on going back!!!

2. Hidden Tavern

Website: https://www.hiddentavern.com/
Address: 11407 West Ave
Contact: (210) 541-0001
Hours: Monday-Sunday, 2:00 PM – 2:00 AM
Hidden Tavern stands out for one simple reason: you can count on karaoke here any night of the week. That kind of reliability matters when you want a casual Tuesday plan instead of waiting for the weekend.
The bar leans into an “old bar with a young heart” identity, and the room stays lively with pool, dancing, and a low-pressure neighborhood feel that works well for groups.
I also like that they let you reserve the tavern for private events at no cost, which is a big plus if you want a central hangout without paying a rental fee first.
The main tradeoff is timing. Karaoke doesn’t really get going until 10:00 PM, and the food side stays limited to fried bar snacks. It’s better for drinks and singing than for a full dinner.

Fun low key spot
Love this karaoke bar! Its such a fun low key spot to come to by yourself or with a friend/friends! They have a few pool tables and lots of seating. I went on a Monday night where they had a $2.50 special on Michelob Ultra! They have trivia nights on Tuesday’s, and I’m sure they have other fun activities the other days of the week. I’ll be coming back when I want to have a drink and listen to people sing or maybe participate myself!

3. Sir Winston’s Pub

Website: https://sirwinstonspub.wixsite.com/winstons
Address: 2522 Nacogdoches Rd
Contact: (210) 829-5933
Hours: Monday-Friday, 10:00 AM – 2:00 AM; Saturday-Sunday, 12:00 PM – 2:00 AM
Sir Winston’s Pub is an easy pick if you want a no-fuss neighborhood bar that stays dependable all year.
They’re open every single day, including holidays, which takes a lot of guesswork out of late-night plans. The free popcorn, weekly hot dog days, and lineup of classic pub games also give the place a relaxed, familiar feel before the music even starts.
I had a friend celebrate a birthday here, and the long happy hour until 8:00 PM was one of the first things they mentioned afterward. It’s a convenient stop if you want to settle in before karaoke starts at 9:00 PM.
The downside is that the food setup remains basic, with frozen pizzas and snack-style options rather than a full kitchen. It works well for drinks, hanging out, and singing, but not as well if dinner is part of the plan.

Cheap drinks, awesome KJ’s
Went here for karaoke and had a great time! Cheap drinks, awesome KJ’s and super friendly bartenders. The bartender, Steven, absolutely killed it with a spot on rendition of David Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust – so good. Best little dive bar in San Antonio.

4. The Martini Club

Website: https://www.themartiniclubsa.com/
Address: 8507 McCullough Ave Suite A9
Contact: (210) 595-7626
Hours: Tuesday-Thursday, 6:00 PM – 1:00 AM; Friday-Saturday, 8:00 PM – 2:00 AM; Sunday, 6:00 PM – 12:00 AM
The Martini Club feels more like a classic lounge night than a standard karaoke bar, and that’s exactly why it stands out.
The retro Las Vegas-style setup gives the room a lot of personality, and the owner adds to that by performing live sets that make the whole place feel more polished.
During the week, Tuesday through Thursday are dedicated to karaoke, which gives singers a real stage instead of squeezing them in between other acts.
It can also scratch the same itch as some local nightclubs, but with more focus on singing. I am also a fan of how the crowd tends to skew older and more relaxed, which can be a better fit if you want something calmer than a rowdy dance bar.
The catch is that weekends shift away from karaoke and toward live bands. That means no guest singing on Fridays or Saturdays, and the required cover charge on those nights makes it less appealing for a quick, casual stop.

Wednesday karaoke is a blast
I’m not a bar person but golly gee this place is nice. Wednesday karaoke is a blast. Server Ashley is amazingly kind and made a good night just a bit better. If you’re looking for a chill place or a fun place Martini can do either.

The karaoke was fun also
I really enjoyed this place – the San Antonio Singles Club meets there on Wednesday. Lots of nice people, friendly & informative about their activities, etc. The music was not too loud & I enjoyed the older crowd, and the karaoke was fun also.

5. Round1 Bowling & Arcade North Star Mall

Website: https://www.round1usa.com/activities
Address: 7400 San Pedro Ave
Contact: (210) 448-2030
Hours: Monday-Sunday, 10:00 AM – 2:00 AM
Round1 works best for groups who want more than just a microphone and a bar stool.
The private Japanese-style karaoke rooms here change the whole pace of the night because you can stay with your own group, control the queue, and sing without the pressure of a public stage.
On top of that, the larger entertainment center features billiards and imported rhythm games, helping it stand out from standard arcades.
Their multilingual song catalog is another real draw, especially for mixed groups that want more than English-only picks. Moreover, food and drinks can be delivered right to your room, keeping the session moving without constant trips out.
On the downside, there’s a mandatory activation fee for game cards, and outside food isn’t allowed. There are also stricter age rules later at night, which can affect larger family groups.

Great customer service
First, Noah was awesome. Super kind and helpful but very, very patient! Great customer service! Second, this is a grown-ups arcade meaning the games and prizes are relevant to adults… it’s still family friendly, at least while we were there (late afternoon, early evening). We didn’t get to do karaoke or bowling because the wait list was too long for our time available, but we intend to come back to do that. Great place for date night.

Huge selection of songs to choose from
Went with some classmates to celebrate our end of semester finals. Had a blast being my 1st time. Did the karaoke room. Huge selection of songs to choose from, but i highly recommend using the app instead of the semi outdated physical books. Some of the codes on the books gave us wrong songs. Food was great and much variety to choose from.
