Improving my golf swing has always felt harder than it looks. I’ve tried to figure it out on my own before, but I quickly realized it’s much easier when someone shows you what to fix in real time.
Much like working with life coaches for mental clarity or a personal trainer for physical fitness, having the right golf coach really matters to prevent small mistakes from throwing everything off.
San Antonio has plenty of golf instructors, but picking one that actually fits your style can still feel confusing.
I want someone patient, easy to talk to, and clear with instructions. In this guide, I’m sharing some of the best golf coaches in San Antonio that I came across while looking around.
How much does a golf coach cost in San Antonio?
Golf coaching in San Antonio typically costs between $50 and $125 per hour, with pricing depending on the instructor’s experience, lesson length, and whether you purchase individual sessions or bundled packages.
| Lesson Type | Price Range |
| Individual 1-Hour Lesson | $60 – $125 |
| 30-Minute Lesson | $65 – $80 |
| Series or Packages (3-5 lessons) | $153 – $425 |
| Junior Rates (17 & under) | $65 – $90 per hour |
1. GOLFTEC San Antonio

Website: https://www.golftec.com/
Address: 18410 Hwy 281
Contact: 877 446 5383
Hours: Monday – Saturday, 8:00 AM-8:00 PM | Sunday, 9:30 AM-5:00 PM
Most golfers think they know what their swing looks like until they actually see it on video. That’s the biggest draw at GOLFTEC San Antonio.
Their lessons focus on video analysis and motion-tracking technology that breaks down every part of your swing. Rather than relying on guesswork, instructors use data to show where adjustments can be made.
Another helpful feature is that lesson notes and drills are saved in an app, making it easier to review key points between sessions.
Club fitting is also available to help golfers determine whether their equipment is helping or hindering their performance. The overall approach feels organized and goal-focused, especially for players who enjoy measurable feedback.
One thing to keep in mind is that lessons mainly take place indoors, on mats and with simulator technology, so there isn’t much real-turf practice. There’s also a required evaluation before regular lessons begin, which adds to the initial cost.
Has been so patient with me and truly helped my game
My coach Jerry Treviño has been so patient with me and truly helped my game. When I first started with lessons my game needed help (it was bad and frustrating)! Jerry fixed what was wrong and helped me take 20 strokes, YES “20” strokes off my game. I am now confident enough to play in tournaments. Thank you Jerry!! I recommend Golftec if you need help with your game.

Patience, understanding and knowledge
Jagger DelGado at the 281 location in San Antonio is the real deal. It only took him 5 30min lessons to fix a 30 year old problem. Dropped my score 5 stokes. I couldn’t be happier and highly recommend him to anyone, beginner, old pro, it would not matter. His demeanor, patience, understanding and knowledge of the swing will fix whatever you ask him to fix.

2. San Antonio Golf Pro

Service Area: Leon Springs and nearby areas
Contact: 386 846 2476
Hours: By Appointment
What often holds golfers back isn’t effort, but overly complex instruction. The San Antonio Golf Pro takes a more straightforward approach, focusing on how the body moves through the swing instead of drowning players in technical jargon.
With their approach, adjustments are easier to apply during practice. They also offer remote coaching, giving golfers another way to receive feedback between in-person sessions.
Trackman technology is included in the process, but it supports the lesson rather than leading it. Their lesson options cover everything from swing work to advanced game-improvement programs.
The biggest drawback is the cost. Beginners may find the pricing higher than some local alternatives. On-course coaching programs can also become expensive if you’re looking for long-term instruction.
A great golf coach
Mike is a great golf coach. He breaks down your swing using video and the trackman tool and explains what you are doing currently and what you SHOULD be doing for better results. He gives you easy drills to develop the proper feel and angles you need for a good, consistent golf swing. After only 3 lessons I am already seeing results out on the course. I am looking forward to continuing my golf swing journey with Mike. Scratch golf here I come!

3. On Par Golf

Hours: Monday – Sunday, By Appointment
Scheduling a golf lesson can sometimes be more challenging than the lesson itself. That’s one reason On Par Golf caught my attention. They teach at several municipal courses around the city, giving golfers more flexibility when choosing where to practice.
They also offer programs for both adults and juniors, making them a flexible option for families or golfers at different skill levels.
Their coaching includes tools such as 3D motion analysis and force-measurement technology to help players better understand their swing mechanics.
The downside is that lessons are appointment-only, so walk-ins aren’t really an option. Because instructors work across multiple locations, your preferred coach may not always be available at the course closest to you.
It is impressive how technology has made its way into golf
This was my first lesson in over 20 years and it is impressive how technology has made its way into golf. Today I worked with Jesse Angiano and my experience was excellent. The session was private, in a superb facility with plenty of training aids. Jesse made sense of all of the data captured by the Trackman computer, guaranteed results, and he delivered. This facility is a gem for the southside and I’m excited about future sessions at this location.

Super flexible with our crazy schedule
Coach Garza has been working with my daughter for a few months and we’ve seen great improvement. His facility allows him to coach her indoors on a simulator and take what she learns out to the course and the combination has been perfect. It hassle free to schedule one and one time with the Coach Garza and he’s been super flexible with our crazy schedule. I would recommend making the trip out to check out his golf studio and his trackman setup.

4. Joe Caruso Golf Academy

Improvement in golf can happen fast, but lasting results usually take a longer approach. Luckily, Joe Caruso Golf Academy focuses on that long-term path.
Their programs are designed to help golfers improve steadily over time, particularly those interested in tournament or competitive play.
The academy also offers video review programs that allow students to submit swings and receive feedback outside regular lessons.
That flexibility can be useful for golfers who practice frequently on their own. Their coaching options range from beginner-friendly instruction to more advanced development plans.
One thing to note is that online coaching availability can be limited during busy periods. Booking in-person lessons can also take a little extra planning since they don’t use a direct online scheduling system.
Actually FIXES the issue with drill work and new healthy habits
Joe Caruso is THE best name in Golf in Texas in my opinion. His approach to teaching the game and personable coaching touch separates himself from the rest of golf instructors. Joe is not only an amazing person, but has an incredible gift to take an average golfer and make them great. He never “band aids”, but actually FIXES the issue with drill work and new healthy habits. I would stake my entire reputation and recommend Joe to anyone looking for solid lessons, Joe is your guy.

5. Dead Solid Perfect Golf

Website: https://dspgfit.com/
Address: 16900 Blanco Rd.
Contact: 210 332 5094 | [email protected]
Hours: By appointment
Sometimes swing problems aren’t caused by technique alone. Dead Solid Perfect Golf takes that idea seriously by combining instruction with professional club fitting.
That combination helps golfers consider both their mechanics and their equipment during the improvement process.
The facility also includes a practice space, making it easier to work on drills between lessons. Their staff brings experience in both coaching and equipment fitting, creating a more complete training environment than some lesson-only facilities.
Because the coaching team is relatively small, scheduling can become tighter during peak golf season. Golfers who only want swing instruction may also find that the equipment-fitting side of the business plays a bigger role than expected.
Nice facility and you can work on your putting too
New mats and a automatic ball tee upper thing? Pretty freaking cool. If you are into smashing golf balls give the place a try. Nice facility and you can work on your putting too. Inside you can take a break from the 100+ degree evenings and cool off.

My preferred driving range overall
My preferred driving range overall. A little bit out of the way for me but for the price, friendly staff, location, environment, *auto feed mats* you can’t beat it. Plus, it’s right around the corner from a nice chispa spot!
