Their reward points program is also a nice perk for frequent buyers, since earning 50 points just for signing up feels like a warm and worthwhile welcome.
However, despite their long operating hours, their same-day delivery policy is a bit strict. You usually have to get your order in by noon, which is earlier than some competitors.
If you miss that lunch-hour cutoff, your recipient isn’t getting their blooms until the next day, which can be a dealbreaker for those who have no choice but last-minute calls.

Everything is hand-arranged and hand-delivered, so your recipient never has to do the work of unpacking and arranging stems themselves. I tested this myself by sending a custom arrangement to a friend near The Rim.
True to their word, it arrived fully staged and looked exactly like the photos on their website, with no cardboard debris in sight.
The downside here is the weekend availability. They are completely closed on Sundays and have a very short window on Saturdays (10 AM to 2 PM).
If you need a weekend delivery and don’t plan ahead by Friday, you’re likely out of luck with this shop.

Oakleaf Florist has been around since 1982, and that longevity shows in their old-school reliability.
They are a great pick if you want a physical location you can actually walk into on Naco-Perrin Blvd to discuss your needs.
I really like their “Bouquet of the Month Club” option because it is a fantastic gift idea for a spouse or parent that keeps on giving, all without the need to re-order every time.
They also branch out beyond petals, offering gourmet snacks and fruit baskets that suit corporate settings where flowers might feel too intimate.
The catch with Oakleaf is their schedule. They run on a strict “business hours” model, closing at 4 PM on weekdays and staying completely closed on weekends.
This makes them a tough choice for working professionals who might want to pop in on a Saturday morning.

For those who value history, The Flower Bucket stands out, having served Texas continuously since 1913. That is over a century of floral experience.
They stand out for their specialized plant offerings, particularly peace lilies and dish gardens, which are often better than cut flowers for sympathy gifts because they last longer.
I also appreciate that they handle international orders if you call them directly, which is a rare service to find these days without going through a generic wire service.
While they do have weekend hours, they are quite limited. They close at noon on both Saturday and Sunday.
Plus, they don’t deliver on Sundays at all, so even though the shop is open briefly in the morning, you can’t get fresh blooms to your doorstep until Monday if you miss the Saturday window.

Betty’s Flower Shop is a South San Antonio staple that has been independent since 1985. They offer a really clever “Gift Now, Deliver Later” service that I haven’t seen elsewhere.
It allows you to send an immediate email notification to the recipient. This feature saves the day when you remember a birthday the morning of, while the actual flowers arrive a bit later.
I used this feature recently for a family member’s anniversary that I almost forgot. The instant email notification saved me, and the flowers arrived beautifully fresh two days later.
They also offer premium wine pairings, which elevate a simple bouquet into a full date night package. However, keep in mind that Betty’s is closed on Sundays.
If you have a weekend event or a Sunday birthday, you’ll need to coordinate a Saturday delivery or look elsewhere.
