We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Specialist Credentials: We verified that the practitioners hold board certification in endodontics and have extensive experience handling complex cases. This ensures patients receive care from highly trained experts rather than general practitioners.

Technology and Techniques: Our evaluation favored clinics utilizing dental operating microscopes and modern rotary instrumentation.  We also looked for practices that employ 3D Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) imaging for higher success rates.

Patient Comfort: We prioritized facilities that provide gentle anesthesia and various sedation options to help anxious patients relax. A calming office environment is crucial for minimizing stress during a root canal procedure.

Convenience and Reputation: We checked for flexible scheduling and multiple clinic locations to ensure regional accessibility. High patient ratings regarding pain management and successful outcomes strongly influenced our final selections.

Dealing with severe tooth pain is incredibly stressful, especially when you find out you need specialized treatment.

You need an endodontist in San Antonio who can alleviate that pain while preserving your natural smile.

We evaluated several local practices to help you find an expert equipped with modern technology and a calming approach

Address: 1100 NW Loop 410, Ste. 515

Contact: 210-341-8281

Hours: Monday – Thursday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Friday, 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM

San Antonio Endodontics focuses exclusively on root canal therapies and surgical apicoectomies using advanced diagnostic tools.

They’re recognized members of the American Association of Endodontists, adding a strong layer of trust to their practice and clinical decisions.

Patients benefit from their sophisticated technology during complex procedures, including targeted treatments for traumatic dental injuries.

I also appreciate that their experienced doctors handle specialized cases that standard dental clinics might refer out.

However, booking a late-week appointment here can be quite difficult due to their short Friday schedule. The clinic closes completely at noon, which limits options for busy professionals needing end-of-week care without missing work.

Pros

  • Advanced technology for complex procedures
  • Specialized retreatments for previously treated teeth
  • Targeted care for traumatic dental injuries
  • Recognized members of the American Association of Endodontists

Cons

  • Short Friday hours

No Discomfort
San antonio endodontics is great place to have dental work done. Dr. Cloutier is very professional and smooth. Didn’t feel any discomfort during the root canal. Staff of Allison, Gabriel and Amy are just some of staff that treated  me in a manner to reduce my stress. I really appreciated that. I would definitely return to have additional work done when needed.

Comforted and Reassured

When a close family member needed a complex retreatment recently, their team explained the entire 3D imaging process clearly and put our minds at ease.

Unfortunately, their operational schedule is somewhat restrictive for those needing weekend or late-week assistance. The clinic is completely closed on Fridays, limiting treatment availability to a Monday through Thursday window.

Pros

  • Equipped with surgical operating microscopes
  • Utilizes GentleWave technology for disinfection
  • Features 3D imaging capabilities
  • Doctors possess over 20 years of experience

Cons

  • Completely closed on Fridays and weekends

Customer Reviews:

Very Impressed and Pleased
My 19yr old son is on the spectrum and in need of a root canal. I was very impressed and pleased with Dr. Davis and his entire staff. They made my son feel comfortable throughout his experience. Dr. Davis was very informative and took the time to explain everything he was doing in terms my son could clearly understand. Highly recommend

Painless
I recently had a dental procedure with Dr. Schwartz,  he is so kind and patient. His staff is supportive, knowledgeable, and friendly.  The procedure went well, was painless, and he was available after-hours when I needed help for an issue. I really appreciated that. Dr. Schwartz and his staff are caring and will help you stay healthy!

Under the leadership of Dr. Enrique Arevalo, The Root Canal Doctor is a dedicated facility offering specialized treatments and emergency dental care.

The practice is well-equipped to handle cases involving severe dental trauma quickly and effectively. They stand out by providing Intravenous sedation options for complex, lengthy procedures.

I like that they can hold same-day appointments and find their flexible financing plans incredibly helpful for patients facing unexpected and urgent dental costs without insurance.

A notable downside is their complete lack of weekend appointment availability. Patients experiencing a severe dental emergency on a Saturday or Sunday will need to seek alternative care elsewhere.

Pros

  • Same-day appointments for urgent needs
  • IV sedation for complex procedures
  • Accepts severe dental trauma cases
  • Flexible financing plans available

Cons

  • No weekend appointments

Customer Reviews:

Felt So Comfortable
The entire office is incredible. I felt so comfortable. My wife made my appointment for me because my work schedule had been so packed. The staff was empathic and respectful. The dentist was extremely professional and well versed, walked me through my root canal step by step and kept me calm during what could have been a very anxious / painful procedure. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Highly recommend

Felt Very Well Taken Care Of
I never had a root canal before, and I must say from the moment I called for an evaluation, I felt very well taken care of. From the reception staff to the nurse taking images and assisting Dr. Arevalo, they took the time to explain and answer all my questions. They made me feel at home with their personal care and attention. Highly recommend Dr. Arevalo if you need an Endodontist. .

Address: 1019 Shook Ave

Contact: 210-824-2363, [email protected]

Led by Dr. B. Aaron Vaughn, this multi-location practice provides dedicated root canal therapy. The doctors are certified by the American Board of Endodontics, ensuring a consistently high standard of clinical care.

Plus, they operate out of several locations to improve regional accessibility and offer direct after-hours emergency contact lines.

I also appreciate their advanced insurance coordination. In fact, during my visit to their Shook Avenue clinic last year, the dedicated insurance specialists seamlessly handled my benefit utilization and paperwork.

One drawback is their heavy reliance on a formal referral-based system. Prospective patients usually need to secure a referral from their primary dentist or a standard oral surgeon before receiving treatment here.

Pros

  • Board-certified by the American Board of Endodontics
  • Dedicated insurance specialists on staff
  • Multiple clinic locations for accessibility
  • Direct after-hours emergency contact lines

Cons

  • Relies heavily on a referral-based system

5. UT Dentistry Endodontics

ut-dentistry-endodontics

Website: https://uthscsa.edu/utdentistry/clinics/endodontics

Address: 8210 Floyd Curl Drive

Contact: 210-450-3636

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

UT Dentistry Endodontics is a university-affiliated setting offering specialized care. Their main draw is how they incorporate 3D-printed guided surgeries and regenerative treatments.

The procedures are performed by skilled residents and directly supervised by seasoned university faculty specialists. This academic environment allows them to offer advanced therapies that standard private practices might not typically provide.

I admire their commitment to accessible community care. They accept Medicaid for qualified patients under the age of 21.

However, routine treatments generally require two separate clinic visits. This structure may not be ideal for patients seeking an immediate, single-visit resolution to their pressing dental pain.

Pros

  • Advanced 3D-printed guided surgical procedures
  • Specialized regenerative endodontic therapies
  • Accepts Medicaid for qualified patients under 21
  • Supervised by university faculty specialists

Cons

  • Routine treatments require two separate visits

No More Anxiety
Dr Mominkhan and Assistant Hugo Frias were an amazing dual!  This was an emergency and their calm demeanor and communication skills made me feel relaxed, comfortable, and calm.  My anxiety which had been a big problem seemed to disappear.  The procedure went without a hitch!  I am so great full, my tooth last night was at level 10 almost unbearable and now that I’m writing this review so happy everything went so well.  Special thanks to the scheduler for getting an appointment, she’s the best,
