Feed every guest well with the 5 best catering services in San Antonio

best-catering-san-antonio
We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Culinary Variety: I looked at whether each caterer could handle casual meals and more formal service without feeling limited.

Customization Options: I checked how easily menus could be adjusted for dietary needs or event themes.

Reliability and Experience: I considered whether each team shows up prepared and keeps service moving under pressure.

Planning Support: I looked at whether communication and pricing felt clear before the event.

Planning food for an event can get stressful fast. You need meals that arrive on time and actually fit the people you invited.

That’s why I searched for the best catering services in San Antonio, focusing on food quality and reliable event service. I also checked whether each company made menu planning easy to understand.

By the way, if you’re still choosing a venue, comparing event spaces before booking the caterer can save you from food restrictions later. For weddings, wedding planners can also help keep the menu and service timeline aligned.

How much does catering cost in San Antonio?

Catering in San Antonio usually costs $10 to $150+ per person, depending on whether you choose casual drop-off service or full-service plated dining.

Service Type
Estimated Cost Per Person
Budget or drop-off buffet$15 to $30
Food truck catering$10 to $25
Standard buffet service$20 to $50
Full-service plated wedding$50 to $150+

1. Four Sisters Catering

four-sisters-catering

Website: foursisterscatering.com

Address: 7421 Callaghan Rd

Contact: (210) 349-4040 / [email protected]

Hours: Daily 9 AM-7 PM

For hosts who want reliable comfort food without building a menu from scratch, Four Sisters Catering feels easy to trust.

The made-from-scratch approach is useful when you need familiar dishes that still taste fresh, and the team can adjust for vegan or gluten-free guests without making the menu feel limited.

I also like how straightforward their hot drop-off service is for family gatherings and office meals. The setup can stay simple, but the food still feels more personal than a basic chain order.

The catch is appointment access. Walk-ins end earlier in the day, and Sunday visits need to be scheduled ahead, so last-minute planning can be harder.

Pros

  • Made-from-scratch menu
  • Hot drop-off delivery
  • Dietary accommodations
  • Easy text or phone ordering

Cons

  • Limited walk-in access

Customer Reviews:

Delicious and flavorful

We had Four Sisters to cater our daughter’s Bat Mitzvah luncheon, and we were extremely pleased with the experience. Nicole was very friendly and understood our needs perfectly. The food was fresh and served hot, with all the dishes being delicious and flavorful. The service was five-star, allowing us to relax and enjoy the day without worrying about anything!

Food was exceptional

We had Four Sister’s cater a work event we had for about 75 people. This isn’t the first time we used them and again their service and food was excellent. They are prompt with their arrival and discrete setting up since we are in the meeting when they do it. As always the food was exceptional and we will continue to use them for our events.

2. Chef Junction

chef-junction

Website: chefjunction.com

Address: 1811 S Laredo St

Contact: 210-429-0798 / [email protected]

Hours: Available 24/7

For private dinners or events that need something beyond a standard tray menu, Chef Junction gives you a more custom experience.

The veteran-owned team connects clients with chefs who can build global menus around the occasion, which works well for corporate receptions or intimate celebrations where presentation matters.

I like that the process feels collaborative instead of one-size-fits-all, especially if you already have a specific theme in mind.

The trade-off is planning time. You need to help shape the menu with their team, and pricing isn’t listed upfront, so this isn’t the fastest choice for a simple last-minute drop-off order without feeling rushed.

Pros

  • Custom global menus
  • Venue-flexible service
  • Specialized chef network
  • Good for premium dinners

Cons

  • Requires active menu planning = not ideal for last-minute
  • No upfront pricing

Customer Reviews:

Quality was top notch

We used Chef Junction for our corporate event and the result was fantastic. The overall cost was much less than the competitors, but the quality was top notch. Everyone was impressed with the hors d’oeuvres, both taste and presentation. We will definitely use Chef Junction again to cater our next corporate event!

3. Tim The Girl Catering

tim-the-girl-catering

Website: timthegirl.com

Address: 1127 S St Mary’s St

Contact: (210) 764-9614 / [email protected]

Hours: Available 24/7

Fresh ingredients are the main reason Tim The Girl Catering works so well for hosts who care about presentation.

Their farm-to-table style and Mediterranean-leaning menus feel polished without being too stiff, especially for boutique corporate events or stylish private dinners.

I also like that they can support events at Ivy Hall, which keeps the venue and food experience connected.

Their food stations feel thoughtful and visually strong enough to become part of the event design.

The catch is cost control. Required serving pieces and equipment rentals can raise the final bill, and per-plate pricing may shift closer to the event when market costs change for some menus.

Pros

  • Farm-to-table menus
  • Strong visual presentation
  • Interactive food stations
  • Ivy Hall venue access

Cons

  • Mandatory equipment rentals
  • Pricing may shift before event

Customer Reviews:

Our go-to for large-party catering needs

3rd time to use Tim & her crew….all for events > 250. Most recent was 2 weeks ago and again they nailed it!! Exceptional service and wonderful, creative food. They arranged a tasting for our group to make selections that was fun and efficient. Day of event and even leading up to it, we’ll-organized and always pay attention to all the details. Our go-to for large-party catering needs in SA & S. Texas!!!

4. Black Tie Affairs Catering

black-tie-affairs-catering

Website: blacktieaffairscatering.com

Address: 1515 Rogers Ave

Contact: (210) 226-9881 / [email protected]

Hours: Mon-Fri 9 AM-5 PM, Sat 9 AM-1 PM, Sun Closed

For large guest counts, Black Tie Affairs Catering is built for the kind of event where food is only one part of the production. They can support conventions and formal receptions with licensed bar service, rental inventory, and in-house planning help.

That makes the company useful when you would rather deal with one organized team than coordinate several separate vendors. I also like that they’re approved at many major venues, which can make setup smoother on event day.

The downside is response timing. Manager replies may take around 24 hours during the early planning stage. Also, Sunday closure makes weekend follow-ups less convenient for urgent questions after the first quote.

Pros

  • Handles large guest counts
  • Licensed bar service
  • Large rental inventory
  • In-house event planners

Cons

  • Manager replies may take 24 hours
  • Limited weekend office hours

Customer Reviews:

Food was, as always, delicious

A huge shoutout to the amazing team at Black Tie Affair Catering! Their service was outstanding, and the food was, as always, delicious. Working with Noe and Lauri has been a pleasure they are truly the best at what they do. This is my second time working with BTA, and they’ve never let me down.

Food was absolutely delicious

Im so thrilled that we partnered with Black Tie for our event. Black Tie catered my daughter’s Quinceanera and everything went so smoothly. They were punctual, professional and very responsive throughout the entire process. And best of all… the food was absolutely delicious. I would recommend this company over & over again.

5. Rosemary’s Catering

rosemarys-catering

Website: rosemaryscatering.com

Address: 4039 E I-10

Contact: (210) 223-2680

Hours: Mon-Fri 9 AM-4 PM, Sat 9 AM-11 AM, Sun Closed

When an event has a long guest list or complex setup needs, Rosemary’s Catering has the experience to handle it. Their team can support charity galas and remote celebrations that need more than basic food delivery.

Mobile kitchens and tenting support make them a strong fit when the venue itself needs extra infrastructure. I also like that their menu range can handle dietary needs without making the food feel like an afterthought.

The trade-off is flexibility. The larger corporate structure may feel rigid for smaller clients, and office hours aren’t ideal for weekend planning changes. That can be limiting for smaller teams when final details shift close to the event.

Pros

  • Strong large-event experience
  • Mobile kitchen support
  • Dietary accommodation
  • Rental partner access

Cons

  • Corporate structure may feel rigid
  • Limited weekend office hours

Customer Reviews:

We couldn’t have wished for better service

The WSU Alumni Association hired Rosemary’s for The PreGame (tailgate event). The food, beverages, and rentals arranged by Rosemary’s serving 1,200+ Coug fans was superb. The food was fantastic and the experienced bartenders provided outstanding customer service while making scrumptious drinks. We couldn’t have wished for better service at a reasonable cost. My fingers are crossed we get to Texas again and have the opportunity to work with Jillian at Rosemary’s.

Food and drinks were top-notch

Rosemary’s Catering provided the food and drinks for my wedding and they were top-notch. All of my guests raved about the food (we did the duo quail & steak plated dinner) and this was an area of great importance to us—I cannot recommend them enough! Sonya and Terri were professional, accommodating, and on top of everything from the beginning and they have a great reputation in the industry. I would use their services again for future events. Thank you, for your 5-star delivery and customer service. You helped make our dream wedding a reality.
