Created by Jenny Lawson, this community-centered space pairs a thoughtfully curated independent book selection with a charming café offering coffee and wine.
The entire layout is designed to be an inclusive, safe gathering spot where diverse communities can truly escape into their own imagination.
When I visited last month to grab an iced latte and browse their fiction section, I was genuinely impressed by the inviting seating areas and lively event calendar. They offer an excellent omnichannel platform for easy online ordering or nationwide shipping.
The only downside is the lack of a secondhand selection, meaning you’ll generally pay standard retail prices.
the cafe is good and the books
This bookstore is awesome, the cafe is good and the books have employee recommendations written out. I would recommend coming here if you need to get inspiration on writing or just want to hangout and get out of the house for awhile. Definitely take a look at the sticker collection, plenty to pick from.

You can spend hours exploring their multi-aisle layout, which feels like an exciting treasure hunt for out-of-print titles or classic DVDs.
What I really love is their dedicated trade-in system that rewards you with store credit! A friend of mine recently traded in a massive stack of old comics here and raved about the generous store credit she received.
With this setup, it’s also a haven for secondhand lovers, offering an abundance of media that goes far beyond standard reading materials.
Just keep in mind that the in-store customer service can occasionally be inconsistent. Also, their payment policies aren’t always clearly communicated before checkout.

SO kind!
I’d gone to a different B&N where the employee treated me like an idiot. Deane at this store was SO kind! They never made me feel stupid for asking simple questions and genuinely spoke with such kindness. This location is quite a drive from where I live, but I will always go out of my way to head to this location because of people like them. 🩷

great used book store
Half Price Books is great used book store that also sells records, CDs, comics, movies, and collectibles. The store is well organized and laid out with plenty of space. A huge plus is that the movies are all alphabetized and neatly organized so all of the titles are easy to read and search. Been to other stores where they are just stacked lazily. If you’re in the area, check it out.

We stopped here while killing time on vacation, and we were so pleasantly surprised with this store and it’s selection. Everything was organized well and the little old lady who asked what we were interested in immediately knew the section and walked us over. My teenage daughter found 2 books in a collection she’s building and was so happy. Store is clean and books are in great shape.
